We are an independent group connected through our mission to put the mouth back into the body and make oral health a part of everyone's business. We promote oral health in general health and collaborate across professions and sectors to make oral health a part of general health care.
Why integrate oral health?
The mouth is an essential part of the body, and disease in our mouth affects our general health and wellbeing. Yet the majority of oral disease is preventable. Preventive actions can be undertaken by many general health and care workers in the course of their regular contact with Australians. The pain, the cost, the toll on our health and wellbeing can all be cut right back if we catch disease early and stop it in its tracks.
